Questioning Life
|
There is something happening in this millennium. A new awareness is evident in human kind. Books and videos and cds are being made to send out the message about karma, the evolution of God, the importance of being a good person, the value of love, being kind to each other, being independent and resourceful, how to be environmentally friendly, promoting justice – a voice is telling human kind that we need to get our act together spiritually because we have appeared to neglected it. In this day and age we are managing to create devices that can fit 3000 songs in it yet we cannot find a way to feed starving children in third world countries. We can create cars that can go through atrocious terrain yet we cannot find an answer to our lack of water supply.
Years ago we could blame cyclones and earthquakes as an act of God. Church members told their lower class community that the word of God is all that matters and if you listened to them, you will find salvation. If you choose not to listen, then you will be damned to hell. So we listened. We believed in God. Everything that happened in our lives – be it natural, such as crops dying or in our personal lives, such as handicap children – was because God had something to tell us. But then we realized that some things happened to us that could not just be an act of God. For example, the earth was not flat. We had been told by clergies, by these church men that the earth was definitely flat. So we began to seek answers elsewhere. We began to question the authority of these churchmen. We sent out people to find out answers for things and when they came back, they gave us some answers, but not all of them. We sort of forgot about God and the answers we needed about life and what our point of existence was. But then we decided to make use of earth. We created things such as toilets, toasters, cars, lap tops, music, light, shoes and many more. We decided we wanted to live well in the meantime.
But now we’ve got more than everything for us to live well and to live easy. We have come to the point where we are asking ourselves, what are we doing? What is our purpose? We do have everything, but there is more isn’t there? Now is the time to find out. Visit gay christians information site to find other religous people like yourself to discuss questions of life with.
